FAQs

  • As a member of the Ontario Osteopathic Association (OOA/OSTCAN), I follow COVID-19 guidelines and protocols as outlined by Ontario Ministry of Health and Ontario Public Health.

    Since osteopathy is a hands-on manual therapy, the practitioner and patient will be in close contact with one another for the duration of the treatment.

    For patient and practitioner safety, it is recommended that patients:

    • Wear a mask or appropriate face covering;

    • Sanitize or wash their hands upon entry to the facility;

    • Attend appointments on their own, unless the patient is required to be accompanied by a care-provider or the patient is under the age of 18.

    The osteopathic manual practitioner will:

    • Wear a medical-grade mask;

    • Wash and disinfect hands in between patients;

    • Disinfect equipment and surfaces in between patients;

    • Provide hand sanitizer containing 70-90% alcohol to patients upon entry;

    • Use an air purifier within the treatment room.

    If you are feeling unwell, are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, or have been in close contact with someone who has been asked to quarantine, or has tested positive for COVID-19, please contact bgosteopathy@gmail.com to reschedule your appointment.

  • Patients are always fully clothed during assessment and treatment. Please wear comfortable, non-restrictive clothing. Your osteopathic practitioner will need to move and stretch your body during the appointment. Athletic wear/yoga wear is okay. Kindly avoid jeans or skirts. A washroom is located across from the treatment room if you need to change.

  • There are so many factors that affect how quickly someone will improve: if the issue is chronic or acute, unavoidable repetitive strains due to work or activities, one’s innate ability to recover, age or overall health of the individual, the nature of, or extent of, the injury, etc. Each individual and the circumstance that brought them to osteopathic treatment is unique. I endeavour to develop a treatment plan that is as unique as you are.

  • As a member of the Ontario Osteopathic Association, treatments are reimbursable by health insurers who offer osteopathy as a benefit to their clients.

  • No, however, I provide a receipt which you can submit to your health insurer for reimbursement.

  • Payment is due at the end of each appointment.

  • We accept e-transfer, debit, cash, or credit card payments.

  • When an appointment is made, that space is held for the patient. Therefore, cancellations/rescheduling should be done at least 24 hours in advance. Cancellations or changes within 24 hours of the appointment time will be charged at the full rate since it limits the likelihood that the appointment can be filled by another individual.

  • Reminder emails/texts are sent in advance through our booking system. Missed appointments will be charged at the full rate.

  • I can provide assessment and treatment for the time remaining for the original appointment. For example, if an individual is 10 minutes late for a 25-minute appointment, assessment and treatment can only take place for the remaining 15 minutes of the appointment time.
